Human Rights Celebration

Is usually held the first Friday in September. At that time an award is presented to an individual(s) who has demonstrated a personal involvement in the struggle for human rights; who belongs to organizations that stand up for human rights, or who stands up for human rights as part of her job. Susan Loubet of the Women's Agenda and KUNM radio, received the award in September 2013. Susan and the W.A. were successful in getting stricker laws passed in N.M. against human trafficking.

On Friday, September 4th at 9:30  Justin Remer-Thamert with the NM Faith Coalition for Immigrant Justice and Rev. Jamie Martinez who serves hospice patients at Heritage Home Health Care, will be presented with the CWU's  Human Rights Award.
